Faculty development (FD) is considered a cornerstone in the success of any educational process, it represents educationally sound activities and resources designed for faculty at all career stages to develop their knowledge and skills as teachers, researchers, administrators and caregivers (1). In the field of health profession education, FD is defined as a process by which medical faculty, including preceptors teaching in the clinical setting, work systematically to improve their skills in the following areas: (i) educational skills, (ii) leadership skills, (iii) skills necessary to engage in scholarly activities, (iv) personal development, and (v) skills in designing and implementing a professional development plan .
